    Default British Beer Company

We went last night (8/13) to the BBC, with friends for dinner. We called ahead at 6pm (they recommended this) and were told our name was on the list for a table, and it would be a 30 min wait. We arrived at 6:30 and were told again it would be a 30 min wait. At 7 pm we were told there were 2 groups ahead of us and it would be a 30 min wait. At 7:30 we we found out that the Manager had seated some 'friends' out of order and they seemed to have lost the sequence, and it could be another 30 min wait . At 7:45 as we were about to leave, we were called in.

They have outdoor seating and tables, and waiting would have been much more pleasurable if they could serve drinks out there. And those of us waiting for over an hour after our seating time, should have been offered some sort of compensation.

We were seated in the rear, by the kitchen. The table was high (bar stool height), narrow and difficult to get in and out of. The area would be better served with a bar table and stools.

The Room was VERY cool, in spite, of the crowd, so bring a sweater or sweatshirt. There is a fireplace, it appeared to be gas, but none of the staff knew if it was a 'working' fireplace. If LIT, this will be nice in the cooler weather.

The lighting needs to be worked on.... initially quite bright, then it was turned down so low that you could not see anything including the menu, but after a number of complaints, it was turned up a little more

Our waitress, Tina, was very friendly, knowledgeable and fast. She truly made this feel like a 'Pub' experience.

The beer choices were excellent, too many if you were not knowledgeable about beer. BUT Tina offered to bring 'samples' of any draught beer we wanted to try out. So it may take many, many visits to find out which will become 'our' favorites.

We all had different sandwiches: Steak, Roast Beef, Chicken, and a Hamburger. The rolls and their prep were excellent, cooked to perfection, seasoned just right. Malt Vinegar for the 'Chips' was right on the money. We were surprised that they did not have fresh horseradish for the Roast Beef. The 'chips' were more the American French Fry, but again cooked perfectly.

We did not try a dessert, but the menu was limited to cakes. We would like to see some more traditional fare... some puddin' perhaps ?

Oh, last thing... Prices were reasonable.

All in all..... overlooking the wait, the temperature, and the lighting problems... which should be able to be worked out in time. The atmosphere, our waitress, the food and the drink will make us come back for a second try. This COULD be a very nice addition to Westford.

Tried last night at 6pm, but place was packed, no parking at all. Tried again at 8pm and was advised there was a 20 minute wait. But we were seated more like after 15m. So it looks like they have some of the kinks worked out.

Nice interior, dark wood. We sat over in the right front corner, overlooking the area where presumably the bands will one day be.

I had salad and fish and chips. She had salad and mac & cheese. Done well, nothing fussy. Her salad had a problem with it, but the manager was right out to clear things out.

Huge beer selection, with an emphasis on British ales, but also a good selection of some American craft brews and Belgians on tap. I had a Belhaven Scotish ale (draft) and a Samuel Smith's Taddy Porter (bottle). The later was pure delight.

    Dessert -- nothing special.

Overall, a good experience. We'll certainly be back.

We went there Sunday. We called ahead and had about a 15 minute wait. Thanks to Brad for his tip on the temperature - we brought sweatshirts. The food was good - loved the green bean appetizer. But I do agree with the previous posters - the service needs a bit of addressing but it is probably growing pains. The beer menu is extensive and they did bring one person in our party a sample of 2 that he was considering. I had a salad and one thing I did really like was the dressing was on the side automatically (I usually request it but forgot). I also really liked the fact that the kids menu actually offered a veggie plate as a meal.

I was there on opening night, and we were advised that it would be about an hour forty-five wait (!). We ended up combining with some other friends who were also there and only waited 30 minutes.

The beer selection is excellent. Really, really good beer, served properly. No complaints at all here. Probably the best beer selection to be found in a 10-mile radius. (Prove me wrong...but give me an address!)

The food is...well, it's what I'd call 'good enough'. I think a non-drinker could happily go to BBC and order a satisfactory meal. It may not break a lot of new ground, but everything people at my table had was prepared well and in a timely manner.

I will definitely go back -- I'm happy to hear that the wait appears to have dropped down to a more reasonable level already.

We showed up last night (Thursday) at about 7:30 - there was an hour and a half wait!
We'll have to try again - and this time call ahead.

I was actually back Wednesday night, and they told us the same thing: hour and a half! I was suspicious, though, and so we decided to wait. We were seated after 30 minutes. (I have this theory that a lot of people will put their name on a list but, faced with a 90-minute wait, will leave. So the table goes to the people who stick it out.)

@ 17 miles, it doesn't quite meet your criteria, but the Horseshoe Pub in Hudson has a pretty awesome beer selection. Haven't been to BBC yet to compare.

BBC has been amazing so far. I have been at least six times with various friends since they opened. Great gluten-free options and very attentive to patrons ordering from the GF menu. They have wraps that don't fall apart, pizza, rolls, salads, entrees and more - plus some promising GF desserts coming soon. The waitstaff and bartending has been solid, with only one waitress out of five yielding a less-than-stellar performance.

The management, corporate chef, and a few other key personnel went out of their way to stop by our table at each visit when I ordered from the GF menu, and during the one less-than-stellar visit Brian (restaurant manager) comped out a poorly/inaccurately prepared meal AND an appetizer for me, no questions asked.

Wait times aren't out of line from those I have experienced at peak times at other places in the area - Uno's, Outback, Olive Garden, La Carreta, and BBC's Framingham location. Each time I've gone, call ahead seating has yielded wait times that are perfectly reasonable.

I did notice the cool temps during one of five visits. I was dressed for the beach so not surprising that I'd be cold inside an air-conditioned restaurant. Luckily, I was able to borrow a sweatshirt from a friend.

I like the tall booths myself but did note the availability of some tables for short people and those needing high chairs (which means if you bring a little one you may wait longer for a table). The first night a few of us sat at a table by the bar and hung around for about four hours, doing our part to contribute to the slow turnaround. Sorry!

The GF beers are good, it's nice to see a place carry something other than Redbridge (although they do have that, too). I love that they let you sample first given the prices of the GF drinks.

BBC is a great addition to Westford! Hope they can get a permit allowing patrons to sit out on the patio and have a glass of wine and/or dinner in the fresh air.

Can't wait to see some of my favorite Westford bands play there!!

Small world! I know the owners of this place - used to work pretty close by and had a few "going away" parties for co-workers there, plus it was the regular meetup spot for recovery from after-work soccer games. Great pub.

A little further off the beaten path is Turtle Tavern in Milford...another fun place to hang out, conveniently located right around the corner from where grandma and grandpa live.
