    Default Comcast vs Verizon

I,like many others i think, are weighing the pros and cons of subscribing to either one of these.
I've been getting their calls and the like, but before i bite to either one i need the yays/nays from
    folks.
    Whatcha think?

We signed a two-year agreement with Comcast last fall, with the understanding that they would send us a $200 giftcard for doing so. Over six month and countless phone calls later and that gift card has yet to materialize. Very good experience with their service techs, but they outsource some customer service so there tends to be a language barrier at times when calling in, supervisors NEVER call you back, and when they say "Main Office" is going to call you, they don't.

In short, I'm looking to see what I can get from Verizon and making the switch. Comcast is just pissing me off. Yay for competition!

I switched to Verizon and I'm satisfied with the delivery of services and the price. It was seemless transition and the installer as great. My only issue is that for some reason whenever Verizon makes me a "Special Offer" I always end up having to make a few phone calls to get them to cough it up. In most cases they have come through with the "Special Offer and compensated (slight reduction in the monthly fee for a few months) me for having to chase them for it. I'm still chasing them on one offer. I signed up for the four way deal, Phone, Internet, TV and Cell Phone but for some reason they were not able to switch my Cell Phone from AT&T to Verizon. I'm still trying to get an answer as to "Why" as I have no contractual obligation to AT&T. As far a Comcast (crooks) goes I'll remain silent.

There is one issue i have with the Verizon system, and that is, if you lose power, you are out of luck with phone service.
Their 8 hr. battery back up doesn't do it here in Westford with frequent power outages. Batteries are $15-$20 a pop.

Generator...and when Comcast goes out every week or two (like today) I lose cable TV, i-net AND phone. I've had far more Comcast outages than power outages in the past 6 months.

I've had verizon internet go down (usually late at night) but it usually came back in a few minutes. I have a back up generator for power outages but its not I would be Lost without a TV or internet.

Sounds like targeted censorship, Amber. Be careful what you watch, say on the phone and post to this forum!!

Please. As if Main Core doesn't store all of that info already.

Just got my Comcast electronic bill this morning and my monthly bill went up $5 from $56 to $61 (basic cable + Internet). Is this the new branding of Xfinity is about?

The sudden and regular rate increases added to poor customer service is why I left Comcast. They won an award recently!
